43 Years!

My parents just had their 43rd anniversary this month and I made them the card above.  Every year they have together is amazing to me and yet not surprising given the relationship that they have with God and each other. (I blanked out some of the words due to the personal nature.) Oh and I was late getting the card to them, just wasn't sure if I was going to be.

40!

We recently had a surprise party for my big brother's 40th birthday this year and it was a lot of fun.  We didn't want to go with the traditional black but celebrate the good things about being 40, thus the quotes I often hear from my over 40 co-workers I put on the front of the card I made him (above) and the colors I chose.

4th of July Suspense!

Well I am posting this a week after the 4th of July just in case my Dad happens to see this, but hope everyone had a great one!

This is the card I made for my Dad this year (his bd is July 4th). I like to commemorate things I have learned from him in the cards I make for him from time to time. And I'm always realizing new things.  This is supposed to be a "remake" of one of his favorite movies.  Can you tell which one?

96!

My grandmother will be 96 this week.  This is the front of the card I made her. She is an amazing woman who has had a tremendous impact on our family. And as I thought about her turning 96 I thought what an awesome God we have Who in all this time has never left her side and never will.

Ryleigh is 3!

I can't believe my niece is already turning 3 today. For her birthday this year I wrote her this book above about vacations put it with some other fun stuff (water bottle, sunglasses, pink bubbles, pink nail polish, a cute t-shirt and also some sticker books for indoor vacation fun) in this mini canvas bag below (I did the letters of course).

What's for Dinner? Happy Mother's Day

This is the card I made for the best Mom ever this year (mine of course). If you saw the end last episode of Modern Family when Claire comes home from a bad day at work, or if you're a mother, you'll probably understand the significance of my title :) And why I used the picture I did as the end of my Mom's day in both the "then" and "now" above.

Let Them Eat Cake

Happy New Year!  I hope you all enjoy the year to come and eat lots of yummy cake and other delicious things.

So this is not an original idea at all but I wanted something to go in the huge space above the bar in my kitchen and since I love to bake (and eat what I bake)  this is what I decided on and love the way the white letters pop out against the black. Not at all meant in the mean and careless way it was intially meant to have been said by Marie Antionette - although I just read they don't really think she ever said it.   To me it symbolizes everything pleasant in life that we are free to enjoy.

Its taking the place of the the white pom-pom wreath I put up for Christmas.
